IQ is important. So is EQ.

Why companies should conduct courses in emotional intelligence? š
I usually write about company culture. Itās more about you than company culture this time.
I can tell you what I learned through the years:
You can be in a good company, with a role that aligns with you, and still have hard time.
Because workplace will make you uncomfortable. Because you grow in the uncomfortable.
Let's take an example. You get constructive feedback from a colleague of yours. That makes you feel... uncertain. You find yourself suddenly not good enough and perhaps not worthy to have the job.
It's not the feedback you are sad about. You are re-living something you have experienced before, perhaps in your childhood.
You are suddenly that little person who didn't get that recognition it needed.
Ability to recognise these feelings and patterns is called emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is also ability to work through these feelings of your own and others.
I thank myself I've learned it, I don't know if I could be employed today otherwise.
Nothing is wrong me and nothing is wrong with you.
It's about hacking something our ancestors didn't know about.
It's about recognising that IQ is not everything. Let's look at a bigger picture.
